Wine region of the month: Mittelburgenland
A red wine variety plays the main role on the 2,104 hectares of vineyards in the Mittelburgenland wine-growing region: the Blaufränkisch, which ideally represents its origin in the form of DAC wines. Four communities set the tone: Deutschkreutz, Horitschon, Lutzmannsburg and Neckenmarkt. Two modern cooperatives prove that size can very well conform to the highest quality.
